Mr. Dimitrakopoulos Charalampos, President CEO of Softweb, gave an exclusive interview to sofokleousin.gr and the journalist Tsompanidis Tasos, where he spoke about the implementation of new technologies, the company’s progress in the Stock Exchange and the future prospects for investors.
| AI is bringing entrepreneurship, the economy and society to a new starting point. What is your view on these changes in our country?
“In Greece, we are already seeing how businesses that incorporate AI solutions are gaining in efficiency and competitiveness… AI is not just a tool, it is the catalyst that is changing the way we operate, think and grow as a country.”
| As their consultants, what are the levels you implement on behalf of your clients?
“At Softweb, our approach starts with understanding our clients’ strategic needs and business objectives… Our role as consultants is to guide our clients on “where” and “how” to leverage AI to achieve added value. ”
| Mobile apps are gaining ground in technology. What do you think are the most innovative apps that will change the business landscape in the coming years?
” On the mobile device you can have everything. New technologies allow us to leverage tools to become more flexible and efficient. So, if a mobile application is able to properly leverage all these available data and functionalities, then it can be the ultimate tool for a business. ”
| Given the growing importance of Blockchain for security and transparency, what specific applications do you see playing a key role for your business and customer experience?
” Blockchain applications for supply chain management and smart contracts are particularly critical.In the context of this technology, Softweb has developed the Smart Tourist Card, the smart digital tourist card for the city of Thessaloniki. ”
| Looking at your market shares, there is a significant presence in both integrated web solutions and IT applications. How deep are these markets and what is the breadth of your customer base in them?
” The markets for integrated web solutions and IT applications are very dynamic and are constantly growing. Softweb’s significant presence in this market reflects our ability to respond to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses as well as larger organizations, offering customized solutions that incorporate the latest technological advances. ”
| What criteria did you use to decide on the very recent listing of your shares on the Exchange’s Alternative Market?
” Softweb’s listing on the Alternative Market of the Athens Exchange incorporates strategies that have been designed and planned with the company’s growth in mind. The key reasons behind this decision include our desire to capitalize on the positive momentum that has been created and to emerge as a leading force in the enterprise software sector. ”
| Over the past four years, IT company stocks have recorded significantly higher capital gains than changes in their balance sheet items. Do you see this trend as positive?
” The increased valuation of IT companies reflects the strong demand for innovative solutions, as well as the growth opportunities for IT companies in a digitised economy. We are steadily investing in new technologies and improving our services, ensuring that our valuation reflects our ability to continue to deliver value to our customers and shareholders. ”
| Are you planning growth and expansion moves with investments?
” For the 2025 financial year, the company anticipates investments of approximately EUR 400,000, a portion of which will be allocated to strengthening our commercial activity… In addition, a part will be allocated to Research and Development, promotional and marketing activities and a small part for the logistical infrastructure and company premises in Athens and Thessaloniki. ”
| Based Based on the historical data of the Athens Exchange, you are the youngest person to list your company on the Athens Exchange. How easy was it to achieve this at this age and what message would you like to pass on to young entrepreneurs wishing to follow in your footsteps?
” The integration process for the Softweb team was relatively “easy”. The procedural part took us about 6 months. The substantive part, 16 years, as our listing was the result of continuous hard work, methodical and strategic moves and a team that believed in our vision from the beginning of our foundation. The message I want to pass on to young entrepreneurs is that age is not a barrier when you have vision, dedication and the will to succeed. ”
